Lamborghini mulls saloon and crossover

Supercar builder Lamborghini is set to return to its roots – with new saloon and crossover cars it says will be launched by 2014.

Inspired by Porsche, which has enjoyed success with its Cayenne and Panamera models, Lamborghini
is reported to be running two prototypes already – one crossover and one saloon.

A decision on which will be made first will be part of celebrations for the company’s 50th anniversary, in 2013.

Lamborghini has already shown the Estoque saloon concept at the 2008 Paris Motor Show and any production model will likely take cues from the four-door show-car.

Power will come from the 552bhp V10 used in the Gallardo, with power delivered to all-four wheels.

According to our sources, the crossover model gets a sporty, coupe-inspired look, much like the BMW X6. Unlike the BMW though, it will be two-door only and could ride on the same platform as the Porsche Cayenne.

Largest Exhibition Of James Bond Vehicles Planned for National Motor Museum Display

Next year, the UK’s National Motor Museum will stage the largest exhibition of James Bond cars ever displayed. The exhibition will run at the museum through 2012 and will include some of the most famous vehicles from the movies, to celebrate fifty years of the film franchise. Some of the heavy hitters will include the 2002 Jaguar XKR with SFX weapons from Die Another Day, the 1964 Aston Martin DB5 from Goldeneye and the 1937 Rolls Royce Phantom III from Goldfinger. In total, fifty James Bond vehicles will be present at the museum.

2012 also marks the 40th anniversary of the National Motor Museum, so it works out well that in this special year, both the franchise and the museum can celebrate monumental anniversaries.

Some might furiously mock this Lambo driver, but we’ll look past the tight t-shirt, pumped physique and requisite ball cap and admit that he at least doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Is this how you’re supposed to pump gas in a Lamborghini Murcielago? Even we’ll admit, it’s not the wrong way.

BMW Launches Electric Car I3 and Hybrid I8 in 2013

After BMW reportedly designing incentive electric-powered cars and plug ins that are named after the sub brand ‘i’, now BMW has officially revealed about the car.
Both are BMW I3 using stun pure power, and BMW I8 plug-in hybrid vehicles, namely cars powered combination of conventional engine and electric motor. BMW I3 and BMW I8 will be produced at BMW’s plant located in Leipzig, eastern Germany. More »

Lamborghini last week launched an official invitation for all to see their new product at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September, and we were reluctant to make calls over the supercar being either a convertible Aventador or the Sesto Elemento. Now, it seems that the “super sports car”, as the Raging Bull called it, is something altogether different.
