Held at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, the Mondial de Automobile is a showcase for over 500 international brands and a celebration of the European automotive industry. This year, the show will be celebrating its 110th anniversary and pays host to over 90 world premières. It runs from 4 to 19 October 2008.
Over the past nine years, Barco LED displays have featured on many of the world’s leading auto manufacturers’ booths. From Paris to Tokyo, Frankfurt to Detroit, Barco’s LED displays have helped create maximum brand impact, essential in such a competitive environment. At this year’s show, auto manufacturers including Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Citroën, Chrysler, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Lancia, Mazda, Mini, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Renault, Seat, Skoda, Suzuki, Toyota and VW have all selected Barco’s LED solutions as an integral part of their booth design.
The use of black LED is a major trademark of this year’s show with many auto manufacturers choosing Barco’s new true black LED displays, the NX-4 and NX-6, as an integral part of their booth design. Using a revolutionary black LED, the NX-4 and NX-6 deliver the deepest black levels of any LED product on the market. Key advances in base materials, mechanical design and color processing have raised the bar of LED displays to new heights of image quality. Moreover, for ease of setup and serviceability, the NX family is unsurpassed. The extensive deployment of Barco’s Black LED at this year’s show reaffirms the NX family as the industry’s new visual standard for indoor LED displays.
“Alongside the trend to black, creative use of LED at auto shows also continues as dominant trend,” says Andrew Healey, Global Marketing Manager for Barco’s Live Events business. “Instead of using LED in the classic “4 by 3” aspect ratio, many manufacturers are artfully integrating LED into the structure of their booths, blurring the lines between video, lighting and architecture and giving the visitor an experience that sets the brand apart.”
The Barco LED display solutions are represented at this year’s show via some of Barco’s worldwide rental partners, including Avega, AVS, Creative Technology, Gahrens + Batterman, ICT, NAT, Procon, Showworkx, Utram, VPS, Winkler, and XL Video.
“Our worldwide network of rental partners has delivered a total of over 1600 square meters of equipment to this year’s show in Paris,” continues Healey. “With a strong belief in our “technology enabled, market driven” approach, we provided on-site support to our rental partners throughout the critical build-up phase of the show.”
